Bearly Quilting is the newest and largest full-service quilt store located in the Sierra foothills in the beautiful California gold country. We are very proud of our shop which is located in the Junction Shopping Center in east Sonora. As our name suggests, our entire store is focused around a bear theme. Our store mascot, “Sewphia”, greets all of our customers as they enter. We have a 2800 square foot facility with a 700 square foot classroom that holds 12-24 students comfortably. The classroom is heavily used for classes and meetings which are conducted throughout the entire week.

We stock approximately 3,000 bolts of high-end fabric
from all the major mills including a wide variety of
cottons, flannels, batiks, blenders, reproductions, and
panels. We also maintain a large selection of notions,
books, patterns, kits, threads, unique giftware, and
finished quilts for sale. If we don't have it, we'll get it!
We pride ourselves in offering the largest selection of
merchandise at competitive prices with the highest
level of customer service. At Bearly Quilting we believe
in our slogan, “fabric, friends, fun”. We encourage
you and all of your quilting buddies to stop by the shop
to see and experience our store, inventory, prices, and
customer service.

Featured Quilter of the Month
--- Veloris Hipp ---
Bearly Quilting’s featured quilter of the month is Veloris Hipp. Veloris calls her quilt
“Salmon Run” which she designed herself. Veloris found the center medallion panel several years ago at a quilt shop. She added borders using fabric from her personal stash, but ran out of the mottled tan fabric. Luckily, she was able to find another yard to complete the borders. The partial mariner’s compasses were paper pieced as were the cornerstones, after which it was machine quilted on her Bernina sewing machine. Veloris said she did not like the way it was turning out originally, so she unsewed the quilting and put the project on a shelf. She picked the quilt up again in March of this year and completed the quilting…this time to her liking.
Veloris’ beautiful quilt will be on display at the shop through May. Come see and
admire this one-of-a-kind quilt the next time your in the store.
