Bearly Quilting was started in 2002 as a hobby-business at our home in Sonora, California. The business began primarily by making and selling custom quilts. Later, we expanded and became dealer representatives for a major long-arm quilting machine manufacturer.
As the business continued to grow, we expanded to a full retail store front in 2006. Three years later in the fall of 2009, we expanded to a larger facility and transitioned to a "Sewing Center". In addition to providing a full line of fabrics, notions, books, kits, patterns, threads, giftware and seasonal novelty items, we now also carry a complete line of Baby Lock sewing and embroidery machines, sergers, and quilting machines. We also feature Koala Sewing Studios and Suites, Tailormade Sewing Cabinets...and most recently, we became authorized dealer reps for Handi Quilter long-arm quilting machines and products. At our new location, Bearly Quilting is the largest full-service quilt store and sewing center in the Sierra foothills. A variety of classes are offered throughout the year using both local and well known featured instructors. Classes are held in our 600+ square foot classroom which also serves as a meeting room and space for a variety of quilting bees to sew and socialize with other quilters.
We recognize that our employees are our most important resource. As such, we strive to instill a positive work environment to maintain a happy, friendly workforce that projects that feeling to our customers.
At Bearly Quilting our slogan is "...fabric, friends, fun". While all quilt stores carry fabric, supplies, and offer classes, we believe that most quilters want to shop, sew, and socialize in a friendly, hospitable store that expresses continued appreciation for their business. Our greatest competitive advantage is providing superior customer service to the quilting community. We understand that our customers are our top priority and the primary reason why we are in business.
We’d love to have you stop by the store and be part of our quilting family.
